Post One Hundred

Happy May Day! Did anyone rise at day to wash their face in the May Day dew?  It was apparently once considered a foolproof beauty treatment.  Personally I decided it was far too late!

And it’s a special day too because it’s my bloggy 100th birthday.  It’s hard to remember the first tentative post I wrote.  I do know that I was so convinced I had nothing to write about that that was what happened for the first few months, nothing!  But it’s proved a life saver.  I had to make things happen, I had to make things.

So now I’m inviting you to celebrate with a present from me to you as a thank you for allowing me to ramble on.

It’s a little knitted cotton bag lined with Cath Kidsonesque fabric and I’m popping inside a knitted and felted rose corsage and a notebook, all made here on Planet Penny.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post to be entered into the draw which I will do on the 22nd of this month using the Amazing  Random Number Generator and  I’m happy to post anywhere which has a reasonably reliable postal service.

So, don’t be shy…I know there are lots of you who pop in and pop out quietly.  This time stop and say hello, I’d love to hear from you all.

Have a lovely weekend…

About penny

I live in Norfolk, England in a cottage on the edge of the Norfolk Broads where it can be peaceful and beautiful, or wet and muddy, or occasionally wild and windswept. With me is husband Tim, Henry the elderly and opinionated tabby cat, and Higgins, the miniature dachshund with a massive personality. You’ll find me chattering on about wool and textiles, knitting and crochet, recipes, books and patterns, exhibitions and shopping and of course, the adventures of a small dog! Planet Penny has a Facebook Page, you can find me on UK Handmade and I am featured on Channel4/4Homes Favourite Craft Blog List.

    Congrats on your 100th blog!!
I expect that Higgins bathed his face in the dew….though I expect that being vertically challenged he does that most days!

    PS Kisses for Higgins!

I feel bad, the only comments I have made on your blog is when you have had a giveaway! Anyway, I enjoy your blog, and just love your little dog, though I don’t think the cat would approve if I came home with a dog.

Happy 100 Penny! It’s so funny you mention May dew. It’s the thing I think of every year on May 1st as my mum always used to say it. I have never ever ever thought it was worth getting up early enough and getting cold just to avoid a few wrinkles. Alas for me too it is now far too late! t.xx

I think I fulfil all requirements! I’m commenting, I like the sound of the Amazing Random Number Generator, am within a reasonably normal postal system and I like your blog. Might my name be drawn out please ??

Hi Penny, thanks so much for letting us join in with your 100th post birthday. I would love to enter your competition because I think the bag (moss stitch is my favourite), rose and book are divine and I would love them forever!!!!

Well done you, Pen ! I began a blog last year and by the time I was moving home again I was completely hooked! The bag and goodies are absolutely delightful! Keep up the good work! Hil x

Just had a lovely read of your last few posts Penny. The tea cosy is wonderful with all those flowers(if it’s a pattern you can recommend for the main part I’d love it as Mr Bun has been after one for a while now).

I can see why you were tempted by the yarn, it looks great crocheted in that pattern. Also loved Higgins all rolled up.

Congrats on 100th post. There’s always something to say when you see so much colour and joy in your world as you seem to. Loved reading.

Hi Penny, I’m not writing to win your lovely gifts (she says) but to say congrats on your 100th post, your blog is beautiful!

    Lots of love,

How on earth did I miss this? WHat a cloth head. Still, I got here eventually – many many congratulations. SOnce I met you at the last P N M and had a peep here I’ve been enjoying myself enormously. Hurray for Planet Penny and Higgins (and sorry it’s taken me so bloomin long to say so).

D’you know, while we were on holiday I sent you an email asking if you wanted to meet for cuppa and a cake. No answer, came the reply. Then I realised my email was snarled up and very poorly and it never got through. Sucks to technology getting in the way of cake.

That would be SINCE I met you. I have two very small ballerinas twirling about frantically – it played havoc with my spelling.

Happy 100 – I’m currently stuck, not so much in the nothing to say as the not having time to say it stage of blogging.

Maybe I should follow your lead and get the dog to join in as well – mind you, Higgins has set a very high bar!
