Fingers Still Crossed…

but… I’m allowing myself to be cautiously optimistic.

Henry had his operation yesterday and is progressing well.  If this continues we should be able to collect him tomorrow,  Saturday.  I hope it won’t be too long before he and I are arguing over the nice warm keyboard again!

I can’t tell you how much I have  appreciated all your kind and thoughtful comments.  I’m sure all the positive vibes flowing in Henry’s direction from the bloggy network  have helped, thank you, everyone!
I’ll keep you posted, and in the meantime, try and reactivate my creative muscles.  I’ve spent the week mindlessly knitting, a stocking stitch UFO which has been languishing in a bag for at least two years which I believed required no thought or brain power.
This morning I frogged the entire section, having used the WRONG SIZE NEEDLES!!!  Aaaaaaaaaaah!  There’s a strong chance it’s going to return to the bag for another two years…
I’ll be back soon, have a wonderful weekend, xxx
Edited to add: Latest bulletin is that he’s doing well, has reverted to full ‘Grumpy Old Man’ mode and is terrorising the nurses.  We pick him up tomorrow, I think they’ll be glad to see the back of him!
(…and he’s a ‘pussycat’ at home!)
(Sunday 7th – home, purring furiously and being ‘hoovered’ by Higgins.  All is well….thanks again for all the messages xx)

About penny

I live in Norfolk, England in a cottage on the edge of the Norfolk Broads where it can be peaceful and beautiful, or wet and muddy, or occasionally wild and windswept. With me is husband Tim, Henry the elderly and opinionated tabby cat, and Higgins, the miniature dachshund with a massive personality. You’ll find me chattering on about wool and textiles, knitting and crochet, recipes, books and patterns, exhibitions and shopping and of course, the adventures of a small dog! Planet Penny has a Facebook Page, you can find me on UK Handmade and I am featured on Channel4/4Homes Favourite Craft Blog List.

Our minds go into automatic mode when we have emotional issues, so it was unlikely that you would have put too much thought into what you were doing. It won’t matter anyway, it’s not as important as Henry. More hugs and good vibrations heading your way.

I once knitted a WHOLE jumper on the wrong needles. It was enormous.I was in hospital at the time and clearly not as well as I thought…..
Hope Henry is back home soon.

  3. Marigold and the Goatmother

Such a handsome face full of character has Henry! Onward and upward! The goatmother believes that at least one (if not more) unfinished project sitting around in a bag, is necessary to proper household decor. There is something Zen about it. 🙂

Oh Penny, poor you and Henry, really pleased to see that he is back to being a grumpy old man, really good news. Enjoy having him home xox

Glad your Henry is doing well now, don’t we take on a lot for our animals! Our household is ruled by a very vocal Siamese boy,CoCo and a lovely little lady known as Jinja, well they think they run the house and they probably do! I think that your Henry looks very handsome and also your lovely Higgins is equally so. Hope Henry continues to improve. Best wishes.

Poor Henry :-(. Got my fingers crossed that he’s better really soon. It’s awful seeing your cat miserable and unwell.

Oh so glad to hear his surgery went well and if he is terrorising the nurses then he is feeling fine 🙂 Bad luck about the needles, hmmm I have a jumper that has been sitting in a bag for 2 years…must get it out 🙂

So glad to hear things are going well. It’s so difficult to concentrate on anything else at times like this. Good to hear Henry is back to his old ways.

So glad your darling little Henry is OK and safely at home now. He is so cute. That’s very good to know. Lots of love and hugs to Henry. I’m sure he will be whizzing around in no time, especially with Higgins helping to look after him. xx
