Happy Friday No. 3

Hello and welcome to Happy Friday!

This is the time of the week when we try to gloss over those tricky, sticky moments (and goodness knows there have been a few of those!) and reflect on the bright side of life.  A bunch of flowers, a little one’s milestone, a new project or in my case, a project rediscovered…

I was shamed this week by being reminded of a particular UFO* lurking in the back of a cupboard after seeing someone else’s finished version on Instagram.  I brought it out, and was embarrassed to find just how long it had been in the pending tray.  The pattern, by Jane Brocket, was in the second edition of Mollie Makes, printed in 2011! eeek!

But the happy discovery that I had made a lot more squares than I realised which were still waiting to be added on to the work so far…

Mollie Makes and a Happy Friday blanket…and that actually I’m not so far off making something of a useful size has filled me with enthusiasm to get a grip and get it finished, and that has definitely made for a Happy Friday!

Lovely cheerful project. What a shame it got shut away in a cupboard for soooo….. long. So pleased you found it and found the inspiration to get it finished. I shall look forward to seeing the completed article.

I am one of the Handmade Mondayers and would like to thank you so much for the very warm welcome. I have enjoyed your blog for a while now and am very happy to be taking part in Happy Friday.

Happy Friday Penny! Your blanket is going to be beautiful. I love the way the cream colored yarn sets off the bright designs in the middle. Thanks again for hosting this party 🙂

That is a very happy-making blanket! And really 2011 isn’t so bad … I have unfinished quilts from (gulp) the mid-90s.

    Happy Friday to you Penny!

The blanket is coming along beautifully – hurrah for finding it and rescuing from the depths of the cupboard. Too many projects and too little time seems to be a pretty universal problem among crafters! Thanks for hosting the Linky party again xxx

Your blanket is going to be amazing…as always! I have about 12 UFO’s lurking around. One of my goals this year is to either get them done or frog them. We’ll see. Thanks for hosting the Link Party. I always love to have a look at what others are doing.
