February – Week Three

A rise in temperature and drizzle has mostly got rid of the snow but going out in the garden still doesn’t appeal yet!   A few things which I sowed inside are beginning to germinate, the salad leaves, always quick to start and  the broad beans are just beginning to disturb the surface of the compost…

…and the pea sprouts are seem to have grown since I photographed them this morning…

…have started to grow but not the chillies just yet.  It looks like these two pots were a waste of money…

I was a bit suspicious when I sowed them since you could barely see the seeds supplied but I would have thought by now something would have happened.  I bought them because they were on offer, and are the sort of thing someone with only a window sill might buy, but you are really better off buying a pot of growing herbs straight from the supermarket for not very much more, price wise.
