Happy Friday Number 9

Welcome to Happy Friday once again…

I hope your week has been productive and fun, and even if it hasn’t overall, I’m sure there are some little nuggets of niceness to hold on to, so do share.

Spring Flowers Happy Friday

The main thing which is making me happy is…it’s March!  It’s spring!  The days are growing longer, the daffodils are popping out and the garden is full of birds.  I can’t help but feel optimistic even when things are tricky.

Even though it’s been cold, Higgins and I have started each day with a walk before breakfast.  (I would point out that it’s been me standing there in coat and fleecy hat swinging the lead, and Higgins buried under the blanket looking grumpy!)Mini dachshund Happy Friday

I’m looking forward to reading your Happy Friday post, and don’t forget you can join in via Instagram too, with #PlanetPennyHappyFriday.  Please remember to link from your post back here to Planet Penny so that more people find the Linky party.  Unfortunately I have been forced to delete one particular person’s links because they had nothing to do with Happy Friday, and everything to do with taking advantage to get free advertising.

Not in the spirit of Happy Friday at all!

See you soon…x

Happy Friday Number 7

Can it really be Happy Friday time again already?

This week’s post will be really short because it’s half term.  Not only are there grandsons visiting, but they’ve brought along their new puppy, so it’s very hectic, although a lot of fun and definitely happy.

Higgins is feeling a little bit aggrieved at sharing ‘his’ boys with another dog…Mini dachshund for Happy Friday

and a bit grumpy about energetic puppy play all the time, but he’s gradually coming round…Dog montage for Happy FridayNext week we are returning the visit and heading off to the South Coast for a few days so really looking forward to that.

So over to you, what’s made your week happy?  If you are linking your post below, please make sure  it is relevant to Happy Friday and link back to this post so that as many people as possible find everyone who takes part.  I’m rather sad when some people take advantage of something which is meant to spread a little happiness and use it for promotion with posts which are not relevant at all!  You can find out how to join in here if you haven’t done it before.

And finally, if you didn’t see my last post, I have a fabulous giveaway of a gorgeous new craft book from Cut Out + Keep.  All you have to do is leave a comment, so do join in for a chance to win.

I hope you’ve had a great week, I’m look forward to reading all about it on Happy Friday!

Happy Friday Number 6

Hooray!  Here at last for Happy Friday…That’s the problem with living in the wilds of Norfolk, the internet connection is rubbish at the best of times, and when it goes wrong, it really goes wrong! Never mind, I’m here now, and if I type very, very fast I might just get back in in time for the Great British Sewing Bee which I love, do you?

So what happened this week which deserves a Happy Friday mention? Well, firstly I fell in love with, and just had to buy these gorgeous pieces of vintage eiderdown fabrics from Sarah Moore.  As soon as I saw them I was transported back to childhood and the eiderdown m granny used to tuck me under when I went to stay.  If only I still had it… I’m hoping to make a little patchwork cushion for my bedroom to keep those memories alive.

Higgins had a play date with his little friend Coco.  It’s sooo difficult to get a clear photo when he meets his pals, there’s so much charging around, but here they are, I think they were hunting otters! 2015-02-06 14.41.31I started making the cowl designed for the Remembering Vanessa Knitalong which I mentioned in this post and explains the gorgeous yarn I showed you for Happy Friday number 4

And I finished and posted my lovely ‘Zing’ squares to Lisa of Bobobun for the ‘Do You Mind If I Knit Blanket’ so I had a great sense of achievement.

Happy Friday Number 4

I can’t believe Happy Friday has come around again so quickly!

I fully intended to have written a blog post earlier in the week with all sorts of news in but it was so busy happening I just haven’t had time! So I’m not going to try and shoehorn everything in just here, but instead make sure I add in extra posts and catch up.

My own happiest moments this week was all about friends…

Firstly Higgins met a new friend.  Little Dexter, who is seven months old, came round to play and rang rings round poor Higgins.

Mostly things were just a blur…

But with the aid of a bribe or two we managed a long enough pause to get things into focus…..

I toddled off into Norwich to be a ‘lady who lunches’ to meet up with Gabriella  and Lisa, two lovely and talented blogging buddies.  It’s always so nice to have a chance to meet up in the real world!

And I’ve had lots of yummy post this week, I shall just give you a sneaky peek of one of the parcels…

Happy Friday No. 3

Hello and welcome to Happy Friday!

This is the time of the week when we try to gloss over those tricky, sticky moments (and goodness knows there have been a few of those!) and reflect on the bright side of life.  A bunch of flowers, a little one’s milestone, a new project or in my case, a project rediscovered…

I was shamed this week by being reminded of a particular UFO* lurking in the back of a cupboard after seeing someone else’s finished version on Instagram.  I brought it out, and was embarrassed to find just how long it had been in the pending tray.  The pattern, by Jane Brocket, was in the second edition of Mollie Makes, printed in 2011! eeek!

But the happy discovery that I had made a lot more squares than I realised which were still waiting to be added on to the work so far…

Mollie Makes and a Happy Friday blanket…and that actually I’m not so far off making something of a useful size has filled me with enthusiasm to get a grip and get it finished, and that has definitely made for a Happy Friday!

So now, over to you.  What Happy Friday moments would you like to share?  This week I would also like to welcome the Handmade Habour Linkers whom Wendy Massey has pointed this way.  I just know your handmade goodness will make people very happy!
