Needlefelt Workshops. 2018 will see Planet Penny out and about with fleece and felting needles! If you have always wanted to learn to needlefelt these workshops will give you the skills to take away and start on your own needlefelt adventure.
Needlefelt is an economical craft for a beginner. No costly list of essential equipment before even starting, no complicated machines to operate and is easily portable.
I will be teaching both 3D needlefelting and flat embellishment, both workshops suitable for complete beginners. Three dimensional needlefelting is the wonderful magic of taking a handful of soft fluffy fleece and turning it into a firm sculpture using just a single barbed needle. The only limit is your imagination!
The same needle can also be used to embellish flat felt with gorgeous coloured fleece and yarn which can then further decorated with embroidery and beads, a useful skill for wet felters to further enhance their work. Using commercially produced felt as a base, a beginner can soon learn the skills to create beautifully decorated fabric which can be turned into book covers, phone cases, bags, pictures…
The workshops are friendly and fun, and I’m always amazed at the variety of creations which are produced. Every one an individual! All materials, tea and coffee provided, and something yummy for elevenses
I will be holding workshops at various venues during the year, and please contact me if you would like to arrange a workshop for a group.
The next workshop will be:
