Well, we’ve done it…After months (years?) of talking about how nice it would be, Kit and I have just taken the plunge and applied to take part in Norfolk’s Open Studios scheme next year. It’s exciting and scary in equal measures but the lack of studio has always been my excuse in the past and I don’t have that any more, do I?
We slithered our way into Norwich on icy roads a couple of days ago and delivered the application forms by hand, just to make sure they actually got there and I had a confirmation email today so it’s really happening! And who knows, I might even get to meet some of you when it takes place. As Miranda’s Mum, Penny says, ‘Such fun!’
We were in just the right part of town to visit Ruth in Glory Days too, and this time I was able to take a couple of photos to share the gorgeousness with you all.

I love all the rosy spottiness, have you noticed the fairy lights and the little tins? This is really making me excited about my next stitching project which I’ll tell you about next time.
In the meantime I’ve been making Christmas cards. I should have started this ages ago, I should have actually written them by now, but procrastination has been rampant! In fact I do realise that I should have been beavering away with an exquisite linocut around August, popped round to Kit and her printing press in September and by now have a neat stack of cards ready to post with all the envelopes addressed from a database on the computer. Fail, Fail, Fail!
However, Plan B. I’ve got several pages of little drawings scanned from my sketchbook, and have played around in Photoshop. It took ALL of yesterday! It’s amazing how quickly you forget how to use computer programs when you don’t use them everyday, or is it just me? The card blanks I bought are too thick to put through the printer but I’ve got round that with those little foam sticky things with which I’ve stuck cut out images on to the cards which gives them another dimension.
So, I have a snowman…

A Father Christmas…
A robin…

or two…

…and of course, a little dachshund, who had to get in on the act as always!
On that festive note I must tear myself away to carry on sticking.. Tomorrow I’m off to Knit and Stitch at the Farmer’s Market and then in the afternoon I shall get the sewing machine humming.
See you very soon! x
