It’s Handmade Monday again, isn’t it scary how the weeks fly by? Even though I’ve spent time having fun with two small boys last week, I still have a few handmade things to share with you, as I’m still beavering away making for the Pick’n’Mix Makers Market in just over 3 weeks time.
I really, really don’t like it when the clocks go back. I’m sitting here looking at the gloom outside, and it isn’t half past four yet! a few people suggested that the extra hour in bed is a compensation, but it only happens the once and not in a house where the body clocks of children and animals are still running on the old time. So it was out of bed at 6.30 for CeeBeebies and Henry/Higgins breakfast!
Added to which the boys went home this morning so it’s very quiet as well as gloomy so I have been SO appreciative of all the lovely links for Reasons to be Cheerful, thank you very much. And if you are feeling a bit like me, pay a few bloggy visits and say hello!
Anyway, this week we went to a windswept beach to do a bit of charging about…
To a mini funfair to do a bit of flying around…
To the cinema for some 3D magic…
… to Bewilderwood for some Halloween spookiness…
Topped off with a trip to Norwich Castle for some more half term fun.
And I bet you’re wondering where the dolly pegs come in!
Well they’re here…
Happy little ladies decorated with needlefelt and yarn, crochet fleece and buttons.
I’ve had such fun making them, and although they’re perfect for hanging on the Christmas tree, they could keep you company all year round, hanging on a door knob, a pin board, or the dressing table mirror.
So they might be hanging around, but I haven’t been!
As usual there is a link to Wendy of 1st Unique Gifts, who kindly hosts Handmade Monday each week, and there you can visit all the other makers to see what they’ve been up to! Have fun, and see you soon x
Hi Penny! Your sweet dolly pegs helps so much for waking up this gloomy monday morning! Changing time is not good (I haven’t even changed my clocks yet even usually I do that in the evening before).
Hugs to you and Higgins!

Oh my…those ladies are adorable! So much work has gone into each one and they all are different from one another. You have indeed been very busy!
Sounds like a fun-packed weekend and I love your little peg dollies – just so cheery! Ideal for brightening up a dreary day.
I always wanted to make peg dolls as a child but we only had normal pegs… I used to long for a passing gypsy to knock on the door and sell some to my mum – I read Enid Blyton! After seeing yours, you have set me off again!
I love your dolly pegs, and they remind me of when I was growing up – I recall making them in school. the looks on the faces of the two kings are wonderful! Sounds like a great time had by all.
Sounds like you’ve been rushed off your feet. There really is nothing better than charging about on the beach, regardless of the weather! The dolly ladies are lovely, each one looks like a different character, you could give them all a name and a back story! x
I love your dolls. Very cute look like a group of sisters.
Agree couldn’t possibly have these lovelies just for Christmas – glad you had fun
I’m glad that you had fun with your boys over half term. They look very imperious in their outfits.
Love your peg dolls, you are so inventive.
Looks like a great time was had with your three chaps Penny, love that Max wasn’t best pleased that Benjy had taken a short cut (hee hee). As for your gaggle of girls well what can I say, their hairstyles are my favourite. Too sweet and beautiful, I’m sure these will just sell sell sell.
I hope it hasn’t been too dreary at yours today, we were very confused about how early it seemed last night yet how dark it was :0(
Take care and hopefully some more cheerful things will happen this week xox
I am just in love with the shot of the two ‘knights’ astride their steeds! I can well imagine you are feeling that things are a bit ‘quiet’ about now. The dollies are lovely – especially in a group. Well done! Didn’t Higgins dress up for Halloween? 🙂
Loving the dolly pegs (plus the pic of the 2 boys is lovely) :)Mich
Oh I do love peg dolls ! And yours are beautiful . Now winter’s truly on our doorstep , all these cosy projects are very appealing .
Yes , saying Goodbye to grandsons is always sad …. but it looks as though they had a fabulous time . You’ll have them back in no time !!
What a super fun filled half term – much more interesting than mine and lovely photos! Love the peg dollies too.

Those little dolls are adorable! I have never heard of them before, but wow, I love them! We change times next weekend. Looking forward to it, altho it really annoys me that they mess with the clocks.
Love how you managed to get them all to stand still for a group photo. Lol. Hugs Mrs A.
What pretty little Peggies. I used to make Peg dolls for a shop in London to sell … half a lifetime ago. They’re perennial aren’t they, and yours are so colourful!
Love the Dolly Peg Dolls – they all seem to have their own personality which is great!
Sounds like you have had a very busy week and I know exactly what you mean about animals not putting their clocks back an hour!

what a lovely bunch of ladies. so creative! so colourful! im really impressed with the details, the hair dos and their clothes.
those peg dolls reminded me of worry dolls that can also be made out of wooden pegs. we did a book on worry dolls with kids at school. i feel inspired by those pegs 🙂
I love the dolly pegs – I remember making some (nowhere near as beautiful as yours) when I was a child with my granny. The beach looks wonderful too. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
