Hello again, what do you think of my happy jingly heart? I’m always on the look out for heart shaped pretties and this was irresistible. One day I will have to go round the house with the camera and make a heart mosaic. One day…when I have nothing to do!
I’ve been busily sorting out orders after the weekend, and I just have one left…a hamster. And not just any hamster, I have photos of a dearly departed much loved pet to guide me so this has got to be right. Quite a responsibility, I’ll let you know later how I get on!
I’ve also been catching up on correspondence, which is why I bought some cards last weekend at the Pick and Mix Market. The trouble is, I’m finding it really difficult to spoil the beautiful presentation! I mean, look how lovely this looks…
…and I couldn’t resist buying these jolly Christmas cards from Moobaacluck…
(although I should probably have kept them a secret, I hope no one is looking!)
I must bring in Higgins as a Reason to be Cheerful this week, although he manages to be that anyway (99% of the time!) I had to chuckle this morning as I watched him carefully dragging the throw off the sofa, across the floor to the patch of sunlight streaming in through the french doors. Having arranged it carefully into a Higgy shaped nest, he selected his current favourite toy from the toy box and settled down to warm his tummy! But he’s come into his own getting me out of the house on days when without him I would NOT have ventured into the great outdoors, what with the wind, the rain, and the mud.
It hasn’t been like that every day, and today we had a lovely walk.
Finally I have a Reason to be Cheerful up my sleeve that I can’t tell you about just yet, but which me made me very happy this afternoon! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can share it, if it come off.
So what are your Reasons to be Cheerful this week? Please join in, just click on the Linky at the end of the post. It’s lovely to be able to read all the things, both big and small which have raised a smile over the past few days. And if you don’t have a blog just share your thought in the comments column.
See you soon! x
Who wouldn’t be cheerful with a Higgins in the house! I can just picture him warming his tummy. I like the cheering jingly heart too 😀
I really, really like your heart wreath.
Love the image of Higgins dragging his throw into the sunshine, our cats love lying anywhere the sun is streaming through.
I’ve got my first blog Giveaway so hope you will take part.

I love the jingly heart and the beautiful cards. And how nice to have some autumn colour still! Red berries are very cheerful indeed. Higgins is so active in your blog that I think he should have a blog of his own, a la Marigold. Dachsund Philosophy 101? First post: Keeping One’s Tummy Warm.
Have a good week.
The image of Higgins dragging the throw off the sofa to make himself a cosy nest is just priceless. Your heart of bells is lovely
You have an eye for beautiful things…this heart and those cards are irresistible!
I can just imagine Higgins building his nest :-D. Love the jingly heart – how gorgeous!
Every time I read your blog, I always have to show my hubby Higgins, he is so sweet. It’s nice to have a good reason to get out, and sometimes you have your eyes opened to something you may not have seen otherwise.
Your new bits and bobs are lovely, but the bell heart is th best!
Felted portraits of pets? You know how to live dangerously don’t you? Best of luck!
Mrs. Micawber sent me over, and I’m so glad! That story of Higgins is priceless. Great project, and great theme!
Dearest most lovely Penny

Loving the jingle bell heart!
Hi, thanks for visiting my blog, I see you’re the lady who makes the robins I admired. Lovely notelets, the market sounds like a real treasure trove.
That Higgins! I can just see his ritual. He has the right idea – be warm! Love the heart. I want one for the barn. 🙂

I love your reasons to be cheeful, especially when Higgins is involved! Thanks for hosting it! Sarah x
Higgins is so cool -it must be great to have a funny doggy at home. I know my hubby would love another dog but we can’t at the moment – maybe one day.
Could I ask you to please email me your soda bread recipe, when you have a minute, after your orders and thnigs are done. There is no rush at all – I’m not planning to make it again anytime soon – but when I do it would be nice to have a loaf that doesn’t pong. 🙂 Thanks.

Hello Penny,
I am a newbie to the arts and crafts world and am loving your blog.
I too have a ‘slight’ obession with hearts, so much so i was given approx 7 as favours at my wedding a few months back.
My wedding is really where i found that I loved doing crafts as I pretty much did 85% of my wedding!
Any hints tips that you can give me as a newbie would be much appriciated and lovely to try something new.
